WHY WAS THE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED?

The Elgin Education Foundation (EEF) was established to form a partnership between the community, local businesses, civic organizations and parents to support innovative educational programs and activities.  The EEF will provide funds to facilitate student achievement and skill development and recognize and encourage staff excellence.  The EEF will provide educational enrichment opportunities for students and faculty beyond what is provided within the general operating funds of Elgin ISD.  The EEF is committed to investing in the future of our schools, communities, and society.

WHO GOVERNS THE FOUNDATION?

The EEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt philanthropic organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors representative of the community and businesses served by Elgin ISD.  The Foundation is a separate legal entity and is governed by state and federal law, separate from the school district.  While the EEF operates independently of Elgin ISD, it shares a vision of enhancing education and student achievement.  The EEF continually seeks dedicated individuals interested in serving the community as board members or as a volunteer in any of our program areas. Contact any board member for more information on how to become involved in the EEF.
